Medical Dictation is an online digital transcription and bespoke medical secretarial service based in West Yorkshire.  The Company was formed in 2006 by a professional UK AMSPAR*-trained medical secretary, with experience of working in both the NHS and private health sector.  She also has previous nursing experience and was the editorial assistant to the Editor of a leading academic journal for seven years.

Understanding medical terms and phrases is a skill usually acquired through medical secretarial training.  The current trend to outsource hospital clinic letters has led to concerns about mistakes made by untrained medical transcriptions.  With this in mind, we are pleased to offer a personal, professional and confidential service  to medical professionals and medical secretaries at premium rates.  

We also offer an extensive service tailored to individual requirements:

  • Private practice management: patient appointments and clinic list scheduling; billing; transcribing clinic letters; meetings and diary management
  • Internet research for medical presentations and journal manuscripts
  • Administrative support with medical courses and conferences: call for papers; leaflet / letter mail-outs; time tabling; bookings and payments

To comply with Data Protection and protect patient confidentiality, we use specially designed, user-friendly, secure 256-bit encryption software enabling us to receive electronic dictations by email or via a secure ftp server.  Transcribed letters and medical reports are encrypted and returned by email via the software as a Word file, or uploaded to a ftp server.  The software is optional and available to trial (or purchase one license at £19.99) by download from Dictation Studio www.dictationstudio.com.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries you have regarding use of the software.
